2015 HUMAN RACE IS ACCEPTING REGISTRATION FOR NON-PROFIT TEAMS 15th annual Human Race to take place May 2, 2015

The Volunteer Center’s Human Race is a non-competitive walk/run benefitting local non-profits. Non-profits, church groups, clubs and other interested organizations can register to raise funds in the Human Race by visiting the website, http://www.volunteercenter.net/human-race-2015-3.html, or contacting the Volunteer Center at 920-832-9360 or info@volunteercenter.net.
2015 marks the 15-year anniversary of the Human Race, the largest community-based collaborative fundraiser in Northeast Wisconsin. The race will be held on May 2, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Thrivent Financial (4321 Ballard Road, Appleton WI). The Thrivent grounds and walkways are handicap/stroller accessible and pets are welcome. Members of the University of Wisconsin Marching band will be performing their famous 5th quarter routine during the event. Bill Jartz and Cami Rapson from WBAY-TV, and Doug Erickson and Mary Love of the Doug and Mary morning show on KZ 104.3 will be emceeing the event.

Participants walking in the Human Race support a variety of local non-profits that help to make the Fox Valley a great place to live – from large organizations like Lutheran Social Services and St. Joseph Food Program to smaller organizations like Youth Go and Loaves & Fishes.

Groups (families, co-workers, clubs, etc.) are encouraged to form a team to support a cause they care about. Groups that wish to raise funds for a non-profit organization participating in the Human Race can sign up online by visiting http://www.volunteercenter.net/human-race-2015-3.html.
Individuals can support a cause they care about by joining a team to raise funds on behalf of a non-profit organization participating in the Human Race or by making a pledge. Individuals can join a team or make their online pledge by visiting http://www.volunteercenter.net/human-race-2015-3.html.

Pledges will be collected through May 18. Donations benefit participating non-profits as well as the Volunteer Center of East Central WI. The Human Race is sponsored by Community First Credit Union, Thrivent Financial and Menasha Corporation. Human Race media sponsors include 91.1 The Avenue, 92.9 & 104.3 KZ Radio, 1150 WHBY, Post Crescent Media & WBAY-TV.
