De Pere Area Chamber Foundation and De Pere VFW Annual Golf Outing supporting Veteran and Youth Programs
The De Pere Area Chamber Foundation(DACF) and the De Pere Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2113 will host the 1st DACF & VFW Annual Golf Outing for the support of Veterans and Youth Programs in De Pere at the Haven Golf Course on Tuesday on June 10, 2025. The objective of this event is to raise $30,000 for specific and targeted assistance or for De Pere Veterans Programs and Youth programs.
BACKGROUND
The De Pere Area Chamber Foundation (DACF) is the 501(c)(3) arm of the Chamber. The DACF has a mission to inspire and support the De Pere area through programs that support economic development and positively impact the community. DACF encourages connections and collaboration within the community. DACF also supports education and leadership/leadership development programs. In addition, DACF also leads and conducts wellness/healthy lifestyle programs, initiatives and education. This collaboration with the De Pere VFW for this benefit golf outing aligns with the DACF mission by bringing our business community together to raise funds for Veterans Programs and Youth Programs in De Pere that support education, leadership, and wellness. (deperechamber.org/foundation)
The VFW Post 2113 mission is to foster camaraderie among all United States veterans of overseas conflicts. To serve our veterans, the military, their families and our community. To advocate on behalf of all veterans. We have many programs and services that work to support veterans, currently serving service members, their families, as well as the De Pere community we live in. Our promise is that we will do our utmost to assist wherever and whenever needed to ensure No One Does More for Veterans. (vfwpost2113.org)
The objective of this collaborative event is to raise donations for programs that provide specific and targeted assistance or opportunities for De Pere Veterans and Youth. The event is also intended to bring visibility to businesses within our community and encourage connections between De Pere businesses, community organizations, and community members.

Veterans Recipients:
VFW Wisconsin – Unmet Needs
The "Unmet Needs” Program is offered by the Wisconsin VFW as a reflection of its commitment to helping our comrades-in-arms and their families when they need a hand-up, not a handout. Through this program we provide direct financial assistance to provide for basic life needs of Wisconsin Veterans and their families. Once an application is received, action is taken quickly by the Unmet Needs Committee (made up entirely of VFW volunteers). If a grant is approved by the committee, a financial distribution is promptly and directly made to the applicant’s creditor. Additionally, whether approved or denied, the committee will make all effort to refer the applicant to an appropriate agency or other nonprofit that may be able to provide further assistance.
Disabled American Veterans of Wisconsin
DAV empowers veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. We provide free, professional assistance to veterans and their families in obtaining VA and other government benefits earned through service. We offer free rides to veterans who need help getting to and from VA medical appointments. We fight for the rights of wounded, injured and ill veterans on Capitol Hill in Washington DC and at the Capitol in Madison.
432d Family Readiness Group
This is the support network that helps service members and their families. This specific group supports the Soldiers and Families of the 432d Civil Affairs Battalion in Green Bay.
Youth Program Recipients:
Beyond the Classroom
The current series that has been developed by the De Pere Area Chamber of Commerce is called Beyond the Classroom. This compilation of events will provide high school students an opportunity to learn about what careers are available to them, information about college financial aid, personal finances, resume writing, networking, and so much more. Students and their parents will be invited to this bi-monthly offering that is sure to provide knowledge and understanding in a very often confusing time of life. A scholarship from the De Pere Area Chamber Foundation will be awarded at the end of 2025 to one of the students participating in this series. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must have attended 4 out of the 6 events in this series.
VFW Youth Programs
The VFW supports two youth educational programs: Voice of Democracy is an audio-essay competition that provides high school students with the unique opportunity to express themselves regarding a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. Patriot’s Pen is a competition for students in sixth through eighth grades which allows students to write a democratic and patriotic-themed essay. Both programs provide opportunities to advance from the De Pere competition for state and national awards.
