Indigenous Visual Storytelling Through Ledger Art
Ledger art is informed by images like the ancient petroglyphs and pictographs that can be found right here in Wisconsin. Common images relate the stories of relationships between ourselves, story, animals, clans, messengers, world views, and spiritual existence. Led by cultural speaker and educator Mark Denning, participants will be given the traditional story behind ledger art, and with color and paper, challenged to work within the constraints of this unique art form. This program is made possible through a generous gift provided by the Oneida Nation Arts Program and the Planting Seeds of Knowledge Grant.
