About Us
Between Webster Avenue and N. Broadway in De Pere, Wisconsin, are 160 acres of both natural and landscaped beauty, at the center of which stands St. Norbert Abbey—not only a distinguished landmark five miles south of Green Bay, but also home to the Norbertine community and a welcoming environment to those who wish to enhance their relationship with God.
Norbertines are dedicated to living a communal, active-contemplative lifestyle according to the Gospel of Jesus Christ following the Rule of St. Augustine. From Norbertine life flow various ministries, including education and administration at St. Norbert College and Notre Dame de la Baie Academy, parish ministry, hospitality and retreats, and numerous ministries as needed in the local Church.
The Church of St. Norbert Abbey is a wonder, majestic and sacred; the famed stained glass windows are a study of liturgy, Scripture, the saints, symbols, and light itself. Also located within St. Norbert Abbey, the Norbertine Center for Spirituality, sharing in the Spirit and mission of Jesus Christ and the ministry of the Norbertine Community of De Pere, offers to people of all faiths a sacred place and opportunities for spiritual growth and renewal. The Norbertine Center for Spirituality continually hosts a variety of wonderfully diverse presentations and retreats featuring compelling topics and speakers.
